1926-1927: TWO GENERATIONS

George Salisbury (my father) was eating dinner at EL CHOLO and meets Aurelia Borquez, the daughter of Alejandro and Rosa. They court, decide to marry, and eventually they open their own EL CHOLO.  The space was a small storefront at 11th and Western. The original building had 8 stools, 3 booths and a hot top stove which they used to heat the tortillas on the top and melt cheese enchiladas underneath.  This stove is still on display in our lobby at the location on Western - the original location!
